Fostums

Fostums is a recently completed project in June 2025.
The previous building was a fully concrete, Art Deco style house built originally in 1934. The Clients initial intention was to work with the existing building through remodelling and extension. However, with a number of existing damp issues, structural concrete walls depths causing fabric inefficiencies and limitations on floor to ceiling heights it was decided to demolish the property and construct a new, energy-efficient, site-suitable, timber and steel-framed dwelling.

The house is accessed via a private, 350m tree-lined driveway between neighbouring agricultural fields. The project comprises of the main 5-bedroom house, associated 12x5m external swimming pool, pool house and a new 2-bay garage with studio flat over. Our works also involve carrying out the extensive hard landscaping for the expansive site.

Internally warmth is created through timber flooring, bespoke oak veneered joinery and rooflights strategically placed to infuse the floor plan with pockets of light.

Expansive rear-facing windows establish a visual link with the landscaped infinity garden and panoramic views of the marsh and south-east coastline beyond.

This property has an energy-efficient air source system, PV solar array to the main roof, integrated Rako lighting control for internal and external lighting and a Sonos built-in media sound system.
