Building your own home from scratch is the ultimate chance to create something that is completely designed around your own unique needs. We will start off discussing what those dreams of yours are, find out what are your desires, and choose a recommended architect that best suits you. We can project manage (see project management section) or work together and bring your dream home alive.
Period Properties
There is no binding definition, but generally speaking the term period is used for buildings that pre-date the First World War. Period property should not be confused with English Heritage listing. Most buildings that predate 1840 are listed, here are three categories of listed buildings:
- Grade I buildings are of exceptional interest, sometimes considered to be internationally important.
- Grade II* buildings are particularly important buildings of more than special interest.
- Grade II buildings are nationally important and of special interest, it is the most likely grade of listing for a homeowner.
A listed building may not be demolished, extended, or altered without special permission from the local council planning department. Working in the building industry we know how stressful it can be to project manage your own project, whilst working, looking after the kids even having time to take the dog for a walk, so why not let us do it for you.
We will manage the project from start to finish, big or small, starting from developing the project plan, managing a time schedule, working with your set budget, and even down to ordering and arranging delivery of materials. Having good communication throughout the build is important so we will always keep you updated with how any project is moving along. We will recommend selected companies of interest from external to internal, any project our team is here to help.
